Gary hasn't been able to have his mitoxantrone tx for six weeks due to his low platelets. They recovered then went down and then went back up. Yesterday he was nearing normal count so he went in for tx today.
First thing they did was draw blood for PSA test. They dropped his dose of mitoxantrone to spare his platelets. Before he left the lab had the SPA results. Dropped over 100 points to 412 with no tx for six weeks! His weight was also up to 135 lbs. Well within normal for his height. I asked PA how come he was getting lower Psa with no tx for so long. He said that the treatment' s initial response hadn't worn off. PA asked what I'd been doing at home.
"Three things" I said, "Tapioca, hot cocoa with Boost, and prayer."
I'm pretty sure Gary's spirit and will to survive plays into it.
I'm not complaining, nor looking for a reversal in this trend; just happy that he's feeling good and smiling again.
