Lupron brain. Is it real?

If this is true, then does that mean our brains really are between our legs?

They do have a kind of nasty tone to them. I know Bolo thinks he is being clever..maybe he is...too clever by half as they say. Every now and then I get the gist of them,though.

Two parts to my post.

- Yes, the functional SEs of Lupron (in my case mixed with Zytiga then Xtandi) are debilitating, and have seriously impacted my ability to do my job.

- Regardless of who says what, Rule 3 applies. As much as Bolo leaves me lost in trying to sort out his message, I had to edit some comments about it. Just because someone trolls an idea does not mean that it is allowed to respond outside the rules of the site. Contact a Moderator.

my Lupron was a 6 mo. shot ....didn`t experience any lupron brain ....but am having a lot of stiffness and soreness in joints , until I get up and moving in the morning and at night before bed ....hope the "t" returns ,for I believe this stiffness is associated with the low T .......Oh, ...poor Bodat

I really found nothing malicious or mean-spirited in Bolo's posts.

However, quite awhile ago, I did exactly what TA did.
I have a reasonable amount of time, but not an endless amount.
The point of writing is to communicate thoughts and ideas.
I realize that some of us express our ideas clearly and others might be a tad less skilled in that area. In fact, it varies from post to post.

But, to try and spend an inordinate amount of time trying to read posts that effectively talk in riddles and obfuscate every thought/idea is just not worth my time and frustration. HW is much more pleasurable for me this way.

Getting back to the subject at hand: I found the Lupron Brain issue to be all too real.
Mattamx, I was very anxious before I started the HT. But, let me tell you, it sort of sneaks up on you in very very subtle ways. You will not notice much at all for a month or so. Then a hot flash here and another one there.
For me, it lasted a few second to a few minutes. No big thing. For others, it can be pretty bad. (Most of us get little sympathy from our ladies!). During my second HT go-around (I was able to get a 9-month HT vacation) the flashes were more intense.

For me, the Lupron brain was and is quite distressing. I get these large memory gaps (short term memory). It's like things got deleted. Poof. It is not the normal forgetfulness where my wife can elaborate and it comes back to me. The memory is just gone. During my first HT vacation, after 4 months my SEs pretty much resolved (about 99%).During this last 14-month vacation, things resolved in 4 months then got bad after 8 months off HT. It turns out my T has decline a lot. That might just be old age. Dr. Lam says that for whatever reason, I didn't recover from the last HT. Incidentally, my other memory (long term) has been great and it has not impacted my University teaching job at all.

As of today, I am back on as, sadly, my PSA has recovered. I hope the castrate resistent phase is not kicking in.
