OK, time for those annoying little results.

Post them here!

I have moved from Michigan to Ca. for the next 6 weeks. It is time to get out of that oft-single digit temperatures and enjoy some civilized weather! We also get to see our daughter and her husband. GREAT.

But, unfortunately, for me it is once again having to deal with this d-elephant in the room.

I see Dr. Lam on Friday. My PSA is very close to where I will have to go back on HT. I fully expect to be back on that crap starting Friday (I'll post an update when I get those results). For the 3rd time, I'll start with Casodex and do the Lupron shot about a week later.

THEN on the 13th., I'll do my SBRT simulation with Dr. King. My PC has spread to one external iliac node. After consulting with Dr. King, he did recommend that we do the SBRT just to that node. It will be 5 days. Hopefully, that might extend my next HT vacation. In fact, I'll be discussing the length of this HT session with Dr. Lam (and Dr. King). I'm hoping maybe I won't have to be on it for a year.

on the 14th I have an appointment with my new but never met yet Urologist here in the Philly area, and will be getting my 2-year-since-RALP blood draw. I don't have any reason to believe it won't be "<"...but you never know till it happens.

Good,luck to you both. Mel, I do hope you get a good surprise and you can delay the HT for at lest a while longer. Enjoy your time in the sun.

For me, tomorrow I visit the Vampire for a retest after losing my < three weeks ago. Appointment with the DR is on Friday, and I should have results then. I'm assuming that even if it's up from .02 three weeks go, it won't be time to start SRT, just yet, but who knows. And if it is up, from just 3 weeks ago, I'll be troubled about velocity. I'm trying to be LOGICALLY optimistic, but with cr@p going on all around me, it's not so easy.

Hope I get lucky.

5 year check on February 7th. Evaluating every little ache and pain as it's less than a week away. Just part of the yearly ritual.

Mel and Prat, got your hands as well. Andrew, I'll send a little prayer your way. I don't think you want my hands squeezing on your heart, even virtual-like. And if cholesterol is good, blame it on the snickerdoodles. If it's not good, blame it partly on the snickerdoodles and just eat fewer, but never, ever give up on snickerdoodles all together. Just found a new recipe for soft ones on line. Think I'll make a batch tomorrow.

Less than <.09
Changed health care providers and the new one, Group Health is benched marked at <.09. My oncologist says that I could take the treatment now or just wait given my PSA is, as he says, very non aggressive. So another three months.

Up to .13 (in sig line) as per last weeks test. Next blood draw is in 2 months, drum roll until I have to go back on Luprolides as well. sad

Got my PSA today. It went from 4.84 to 9.38 in 1 2/3 months, so pretty much a PSADT of about 2 months.

I just started back up on Casodex and will get my Lupron shot on the 15th.

Not really unexpected.

My first HT vacation lasted 9 months and this one lasted 14 1/2 months.

Still, I'm saddened by it all

Got a uPSA = .024 last week, first uPSA detectable (out of many PSA tests) since RALP in 04/2012.

Will be monitoring frequently near term to determine validity, PSADT and to get prepped to hit up uro with info. He uses standard PSA but has not complained about my doing the occasional uPSA on my own.

I've learned: just because you see the bright lights of the city in the distance, don't assume you're out of the woods yet (sigh...)

Got results the other day -- 0.53, up from 0.21 in October and 0.04 in April. I have an appointment this Friday that was scheduled a year ago with my RO. I'm keeping it, but to thank him and tell him farewell because I've now got an MO. I'll miss him. He was my favorite doc. Over the nearly 6 years after my SRT when I had no detectable PSA, our annual visits were mostly chats about what we were reading.

Mel, sucks, let's hope you get thru this and get a longer vacation. That does seem to be the trend since your last two trips down HT Lane

Bobbiesan same deal as me. 2 years undetectable then a few weeks go I lost the < and am .02. Same path s you except for your +margin G6. Let's hope this is an anamoly for us both. I retest in 3 months.

Mel...sorry to hear about that dang PSA and the end of your HT vacation. But hoping (assuming actually) that it will still respond very well to the HT.

And as a resident of Southern California, may I apologize for our rainy weather? On the plus side, we need the rain. But it would be nice for you to have a few weeks of brilliant weather!

I'm somewhat humbled by what some of the other members are facing.

However, I was relieved to get another undetectable PSA reading. It has been 2 years out since surgery and my urologist has now advised that we can go to annual testing.

Congratulations Dreamerboy. Looks like you are the poster boy for AS, having stolen 4 years from the beast before having to move on it, and now having an apparently successful outcome. Keep it up.

Gary's rose a couple hundred points to 688. Darn. I think I'll wait to update the sig line until next test. Gary skipped a week and the medonc lowered his dose due to the platelet count problem. I'm gonna keep the faith that it's going to drop again.

Chris's PSA rose to 75 from 39 last month. His alkaline phosphatase rose to 510. He will start xofigo the middle of next month and they have taken him off the Zytiga.
We are staying positive and hoping the xofigo gives him some relief.

Well, after 4 1/2 years of undetectable results, I am now at 0.12! Last June it was 0.06, then in December it came back at 0.1. I wasn't convinced that my PCP did a ultra sensitive test so I had one done at the hospital where I had my surgery.

Dr. Patel's office wants me to retest in 6 weeks to see if it is continuing to rise.

Not the news I wanted to hear but it is what it is.

My news on Zytiga continues to be good. Started it in Oct with PSA at 178. Dec it came down to 4, and Feb has it still declining to 2.7. All the rest is good too, with no particular side effect issues. Come on long duration!
