Well first SBRT treatment is in the books.....1 down and 4 to go.
As pointed out by others mostly a non event.
Was told by Dr Zelefsky that everything went exactly as planned.
Next treatment is on Wednesday.

Way to go, Bosco! The entire CyberKnife treatment process leaves the patient asking the tech if the machine was really powered up. . .

until after the final treatment. Then, I had some side effects for a couple of weeks. Nothing that would have had me change my decision, just stuff that made it important to plan my travels. I had some urinary urgency and discomfort, along with some rectal cramping and bowel pyrotechnics. Just remember to call your RO if you have any side effects. They can deal with these easily.

I didn't miss a single day of work. My final treatment was the day before Thanksgiving, and we had a house full of company for the entire weekend - and I was fine. The wife and I even managed a weekend car trip less than a month later, with no issues.

DONE !!
I am officially a "post toastie" having completed my final treatment yesterday. All went well and as mentioned by others it was essentially a non event. Everyone at MSKCC made it a very comfortable, welcoming environment and their efforts are to be applauded. Dr Michael Zelefsky, in particular, is a true gem and a gift to the world of treating PCa. Many thanks to him for his calm, confident demeanor and for always making me believe that he has this thing under control.
The only side effect so far has been some mild to moderate burning when peeing. Other than that I haven't skipped a beat. Will report back if and when other symptoms should arise. I have an appointment to return in 4 months to check my PSA level. I am hopeful and confident it will respond positively.
I want to thank everyone for their support and contribution to my thread. I'd like to give a special shout out to Paxton who, having gone the same route as I did, was especially encouraging and responsive to my posts.
I am very grateful and hopeful for the future and wish everyone good luck in their quest to conquer the beast.

Hi all -
Hope everyone is doing well.
I am physically doing very well post SBRT that was done in February of this year - have no side effects to speak of.
Now three months post SBRT treatment and had my first post tx PSA done yesterday.
Went from a 7 to 2.13.
Have an appointment with Dr Z on Monday to discuss the results.
Should I be happy with this first reading ?

nono not afraid it's too good...honestly didn't know what to expect and since I don't have the consult with my RO until Monday I'm not sure if I should be smiling yet.
Your help, guidance and informational postings is what helped me decide to go this route so if I should be smiling then thank you very much smilewinkgrin
