Went and had the biopsy today and overall it wasn't too bad. A little sore and a little bit of pain but other than that everything is good. My Doc was overall pleased with the size and shape of my prostate and only ended up taking a 8 core biopsy from the standard 12. He did show me afterwards one place that he felt was suspicious for cancer but really won't know the final results till next Monday when I go back. He did give me a website for me to check because he said they may be back on Friday. he said if I was to anxious to wait I could check for myself. Me anxious? NO! Already been on there to see!! LOL Already passing some blood when I go but that was expected. I guess these next few days are truly going to be the longest and most stressful. Thanks again for everything!

Welcome Preacher,
No offense, but I hope you get to leave this place come Monday and never come back. The waiting game is always tough. Try to keep busy and focus on other things. Hopefully you get good results and can wave goodbye, but if you do join us know that you will receive an unbelievable amount of support and information.

Good luck and hope the waiting isn't so bad. And don't be surprised if it takes a while for the blood to clear--it's a bit gross, but no big deal. Please report back!

I'll add this - try to do things to distract your mind while you wait. Watch a favorite move, good out to favorite spot, spend more time on a hobby, read, whatever. Just do things and try not to think about it until you get the info from the doc.

Waiting is such a hard thing to do,

Preacher - The guys are right, at least in my experience. Stay busy. It won't be that long and you will know more. Once you get the results, it may get easier, may not, but we will be here to walk with you down the path.

Preach....ditto Pax`s post .....none of this is easy( except the radiation treatments,please give consideration to Rads if treatment needed )......but , yes , there are MANY folks here at HW that will be with you every step of your journey. I usually look at the glass half empty , and when the news is positive , I "feel" great .....not so positive , more research .....wish you well......keep us posted ~ David

I see your psa was on a downward trend and your uro poked a suspicious spot...my sense is that if they find any cancer it will be low risk to indolent...so don't freak... and pay attention to all the AS advice you get...did you have a positive or negative DRE? In any case...you are young enough to get any treatment and overcome the S/E or have a very long run with no treatment if ever if you take the AS route...Good luck and if you are not fit at 44 get there...make it a life style... ah to be 44 again...

You guys are always the best! I have done exactly what many of you have suggested; kept busy. I'm still confident that this is just prostatitis or something along those lines and not PCa. But if it is, then it is what it is. No use crying over spilled milk as they say.

As to Samster's question; I am located in Southwest Virginia. I'm in the mountains about 20 miles from West Virginia. We don't really have "specialist" in regards to urologists here so my Urologist I'm seeing now is at Wake Forest Urology in Winston Salem, North Carolina. It's about a 2 hour and 15 min drive from my house to his office. So far I have really been impressed with my Doc and he has been straightward with me and doesn't mind the hundreds of questions I have asked already. His notion so far even though one spot looks suspicious is that it's not cancer. So I'm going with that and just focusing on each day as they come! Thanks again everyone!!!
