Hello Brothers and Sisters,PSA was high anxiety for the last week or so and might continue,maybe..Got my results today from Hospital.Tomorrow is 1 year exactly since my last Cyberknife SBRT monotherapy treatment.Thats 5 total Zaps.I will see my RO tomorrow to discuss PSA.My baseline PSA was 6.87 then 1st draw was 3.69,then 3 months later 2.40, now today I picked up results from hospital and they read at 2.45.This all in a 1 year span post SBRT.

OK,my question is my PSA rose from 2.40 and spiked to 2.45.Would this be considered a bounce ? How low and how high can a bounce be ? Would 2.41 be a bounce ? Has anyone not experienced a bounce getting to nadir ? And how are my other 2 amigo brothers doing ? We 3 all went with SBRT about the same time last year.Hope you are all doing well. SemperFi,John

Sometimes for research purposes they set a minimum bounce, but it really doesn't matter. I've seen guys, especially those with prostatitis, experience some very stubborn and high bounces.

Hello Again,so I would hope my RO will say 3 month retest and not 6 months.I think once a spike no matter how small should be watched a little closer ? You guys agree ? Why not monthly ? Oh yeah,insurance companies ?

Nah- bounces are really common. Watching less closely is probably better for your mental health.

John - I'd agree with the other guys. Just watch and wait for another 6 months. As we always told ourselves, unless you have one of those really aggressive varieties of PCa, nothing happens quickly. I am still waiting for my first "official" reading post SBRT, but I'm inclined to take whatever my readings may be and view them over the long haul.

I'd take those results as showing that your body is still searching for its nadir. Things (numbers) may be a bit noisy for a while, but they will settle down and I'm convinced that yours will behave.

John, for my money I think you're fine. 2.4 or 2.45 is still WELL below your original PSA and the difference between the two is negligible. BTW, it took me YEARS to reach my nadir post-LDR Brachy so at one year out you're still almost a virgin.

Hi 0311- had been wondering how things were going with you. Your PSA?-It's an itty bitty change, no worries. Cannot believe it's almost a year wow! I hope life is treating you well.

John - You've got to keep going. You've been one of my trailblazers as we travel the CyberKnife journey. I think you'll perhaps bounce a bit but in the long run you will do fine.

Hello Paxton,Inq.1,thank you for your support. I will see my RO this friday.Everything else is good. I have no side effects . Just dissappointed in this last PSA.I put in SBRT bounce in the search bar and I read what I already knew.Not everyone gets a bounce.A lot do.So again its a waiting game. Maybe 3 months or 6 months from now when ever the next draw will be that PSA anxiety will be there as the days draw closer.But thats what it is.For all of us .I just worry about 2 consecutive bounces in a row.Is that when you start to look at plan B ?
