Very sad day for HW and GFMPH

Got a call tonight informing me that Nomar Lupron AKA Lupron Jim passed away this morning. I am incredibly sad. Jim attended many of the GFMP gatherings and had planned to be here at my house for the gathering on April 20.

Please keep his wife Karen and their 2 daughters in prayer.

A very sad day indeed, for our brotherhood. I've met Jim at a few of the GFMPH gatherings. A really nice guy, and a huge help to so many of us.

Thank you Jeff for the update no one wanted to read about. My thoughts and prayers go out to his Family and The HW Family. It is sad to hear.

Yup, Cajun Jeff, you nailed it, Jim was a nice guy, and very well educated and fun to visit with. He was always willing to lend a hand or words of encouragement to those of us dealing with PCa. We'll miss him when next we gather in LA for GFMPH. May he Rest In Peace now and forever. Our love and thoughts to Karen and Jim's family.

I am overwhelmed with sadness for the loss of our Brother, Jim Crotty. I read many of his post over the years, was encouraged by him always, he truly fought the good fight. Clearwater posted very nice words of tribute. he deserves all that and more.

Jim, my Brother ,now finally, Rest in Peace, No more Lupron, no more chemo ,no more pain.
Wings of Eagles, knowing that he is being carried by Wings of Angels.

OMG. I'm crushed. I knew Jim and loved him - what a great guy! He really went the extra mile in his prostate cancer treatments, and I believe it paid off. How tragic that he gets his PC under control, only to be felled by melanoma (I suspect).

I never met Jim but I always looked forward to his posts. He will truly be missed. God bless his family in their great loss.

This is such sad news. Jim had a special kind of humor that will be missed.

For men with metastatic disease, success is often said to be living with it long enough to die of something else. Jim was a wonderful guy -- endlessly generous with his time, support, and attention -- he will very much be missed by everyone he touched. He has beaten the beast at last. We just wish he had a few more years before he declared victory and retired from the field.

This is so terribly sad to read, but thank you for sharing the news with everyone here. While hubby and I have only been members of this forum for a year, we have both followed Jim's journey and his considerate posts during this period, and send our love and thoughts to his family and friends during this sorrowful time.

sitting in my work truck reading this post has giving me a heavy heart . Jim was such a great kind hearted guy. I know he was taking care of his lovely wife . truely a sad day .

This is such sad news. Jim was a gentle-natured, very special guy. His special sense of humor was always a delight, and i was very much looking forward to seeing him at Cajun Jeff's this spring.

I just heard this on the GFMPH FB page. I was hoping Jim would pull out of this.

I will always remember spending an evening with Jim, Karen and my wife Lorna, sharing a late night dessert at a restaurant here in So. Florida. Jim called to say they were in the area and would like spend sometime together.

Karen, Thanks for sharing Jim with us, he was one of a kind, as you know. Peace be with you and your family.

I guess I'm just stunned by this news. I only "knew" Jim for the short time I've been here on the HW PCa forum, but he was one of the guys who reached out to me when I was first diagnosed and in shock. He was truly loved and appreciated here, as I know he will be where he is now.

Thanks, Jim. May you rest in peace and may your family find peace in all that you have done.

I am truly and deeply saddened by this news. I had met Jim and Karen a number of times, and felt that I, like a number of others here, had come to know the two of them.

In addition to the many fine qualities being mentioned here that Jim had, I especially remember that whenever I was talking to him, I always got the feeling that he was genuinely interested in me as a person, and in what I had to say. In that way he valued others, and they could sense it, so it’s only natural that others came to value him.

My heartfelt condolences, certainly, to Karen and to the rest of Jim's family.
