3 Month post surgery

Yesterday was 3 months from surgery date.
Seems like surgery was 'forever' ago.
Recovery has gone well, just slower than expected.
No physical limitations.
99% bladder control - minor leaks when exerting.
One pad per day for minor leaks.
Gets better every day.

I have kept a diary and a phone notes of recovery process.

Looks good! Rather large prostate, average is around 30-40 grams I think. How is it on the erectile department?

Good report. I'm about 4 months out from surgery, awaiting my 2nd post surgery PSA result.

You mentioned a diary. Maybe you can post your story. It could be helpful to others.

Glad you got a good report and are recovering well. I'm 10 months post surgery and doing well too, even though a bit older. Blessings to you and your family.

Good to hear. I'm six weeks since open surgery and also happy to be doing much better than I expected. My doctor told me "no restrictions" so I am back at the gym and back at work with the surgery becoming more of a memory. ED is so-so with pills and continence is strange; not a drip for 3 days straight and then a squirt or several drips out of the blue. My main complaint right now is that my incision is still tender. I had open surgery with a pretty long incision. It was fine in sweat pants but now that I am back to work wearing dress pants, by the afternoon, the waistband/belt are making the new, pink skin on my incision pretty irritated and sore.

Oh well, best wishes for continued recovery to all of us.

Hows the ED going? ... we are about the same amount of time since surgery

I am still doing a pad a day, and I have no erection capacity at all, even with 20mg Cialis or Viagra ...

Still working on that. No drugs yet - that will be on my next visit.

I am glad you are progressing well with your recovery.
Our surgeries were just 2 days apart. I am also 98-99% continent with just one pad per day mostly for my safety. I regain about 70% of continence in just last 3 weeks. On Christmas Eve I leaked 400+ml because of having bad cough but prior to that I was between 180 and 200ml. Was feeling miserable for holidays. Now, I have minor leaks or just few dribbles by sudden moves and on excretion. Hope for no leaks in near future.
Total ED for now. Still, I do not have any feelings in penis while being touched or manipulated by my wife or miself. Started Cialis 10 mg at 10 weeks post op. No reaction no fullness after Cialis and stimulation.
I totaly regretted having surgery.

Hey Chris, Looks like things are going well! We are in a similar boat except my G score was upgraded to 3+4 post op pathology. Urinary wise I was about at your pace & was totally pad free after a couple months. Congratulations.

MK- Why do you totally regret having surgery only 3 months later when you were a t2c G7? I understand the ED issues, but whoa it's only been 90 days and you avoided the horse leaving the barn. Give yourself some patience. I'm 18 months out and still not there (but improving). My uro says it could be 36 months before the nerves fully comeback to where they are going to go. Hang in there.

In just 90 days I experienced so much that I won't be able to recover for the rest of my life. I lost my penis. It does not exist. It is not visible at all, totaly buried in my body. When pulled out, only penis head visible. I can urinate only in sitting position otherwise I wet my clothes.
Feel miserable, feel disappointed, don't feel a man anymore. Was not able to experience any orgasm so far, no signs of life and no feeling in that area. My life is falling apart. Having numerous sleepless nights.
RP was mistake of my life.
I wish I continued without treatment at list for next 5-10 years and enjoyed life to the fullest. Never had ED before surgery. This is the longest time without sex ever since I started being sexually active.
Will avoid urologists as a plaque in the future if I have future att all.

I am now 5 months post-surgery.
Very well recovered.
No pads, some tiny leaks if i really exert myself but that keeps getting better.

PSA still undetectable.

Any progress with ED? Anything positive in this last 2 months?
Are you on any meds for ED? VED? Or maybe injections?
5 1/2 months since my RP and still no slightest sign of life. I am still on Cialis, started VED at 4 months. My experience using VED so far is: when pulled out of VED tube, it goes foster to soft than BMW from
0 - 60.
Next step: injections. Scheduled for teaching visit next week but not looking to it. Terrified by sticking needle to any body part.

With everything going on with getting bladder control and then thyroid, i have held off on the ED solutions. We discussed it at my last visit and as soon as i call the doctor will prescribe something to start. I didn't want to throw another drug into mix at this time.

Dear MK,

You might want to start a separate thread to discuss your unfortunate situation. I know that ones penis gets shorter after RP, but what has happened to you sounds extreme. Lack of an erection and problems peeing are serious reductions in life quality. Still, I wonder why you feel your life is falling part. Have you considered seeing a therapist to help you deal with these changes to your life?

Hi MK, hang in there my friend. I admit I wondered where my willie had gone, didn't even realize that was one effect of rp. However I am 4 months out and it's coming back. One thing I did was get a vacuum pump and the contraption worked to the extent I truly believe it has given me a couple of inches back when flaccid. This might not be for everyone, some think they can be dangerous however for my circumstance and being desperate, the process works.
Also I have noticed an improvement with leakage wouldn't say anything to do with pump, just natural healing I would say.
I have to visit my doc for first psa test post op, hoping for the best. Path report I am told was excellent. Don't give up MK I must admit I too have been despondent, we all are, just believe.
