At this exact time on 4/19/2016 I was under the robot at MD Anderson. I've thought a lot about that recently. Last year was stressful and hectic to say the least. I found out in February last year that I had cancer and then spent a couple of months trying to figure out how to address it. I feel really blessed to have been treated at an excellent medical facility by a skilled surgeon. I have received the best care I could have asked for during and after surgery. My urologists have been great and the staff has made me feel like they really care about my quality of life since surgery. I have been blessed in the fact that I had no incontinence at all and don't even have to think about it. I do have ED but it is slowly getting better.....just like my surgeon said it would. I am thinking longer term these days regarding family, goals and retirement versus what I was thinking early last year. I don't know what the future holds but I do know that I am fortunate. I would choose the same treatment plan, hospital, surgeon, etc. I feel fortunate to be living in a time when the medical facilities, treatment options, surgical techniques and medicines are so advanced. I continue to think about and pray for all those that have not fared as well as I have. I am one lucky man!
