Quick Update 05-03

For those interested, brief update:

PTSD - VA has extended my treatment for at least another 3 months, said mine is proving a difficult case to resolve

Double Depression - the Lithium I am on is no longer working in a positive way. Still on it, now on a new anti-depressant (about 3 weeks) having no effect - might as well be eating sugar cubes. Still having too many dark, hopeless moods

Shaking - still on waiting list to see new neurology group, shaking is much worse - can't hardly write, or text or dial numbers, even my normal fast typing speeds have decreased. Using a debit card can be hard, when I have to punch in my code. At times, legs and feet get the shakes

Re-test CT scan of my chest and abdomen has been delayed by another 3 months till September, disappointed me since new lesions found on both kidneys and my liver, and spot on chest is 300% larger than in past

Frustrating. I have no insurance issues, lucky there, but trying to get results and diagnoses taking too long.

I read here daily, just not so easy to answer many threads. So many new names I don't recognize. In October, will be here 9 years.

David- So sorry that you are not getting positive results from the new meds and that treatments and diagnoses have taken so long. Prayers continue.
Like you I mostly read posts now, rather than respond. Hubby's oncologist (yes, I finally got him to see one) plans on starting him on something to make his HDT 'total depravation' at the next rise in his PSA. He gets his blood draw on the 8th and we see him to discuss things and get his Lupron shot on the 12th. He'll also start injections to treat his osteoporosis at that time. Going to talk about meds for his bone pain, too.

So while you wait for the delayed CT scans it sounds like there is no treatment for the lesions on liver & kidneys?

I really don't understand why some people get treatment quickly, and others have to wait around for tests and answers that often never come. I mean, given good insurance, why these differences? (Rhetorical question, just getting grumpy when my friends are in pain!)
