Viagra question

I have read some doctors like a daily regimen of Viagra or Cialis. However, I usually see Cialis used daily as that is one of the prescribed dosages.

My doctor recommends using 100 mg of Viagra a couple times a week as therapy while I wait for the nerves to heal. I have also found videos of urologists at Sloan Kettering and in Australia describing their program for penile rehabilitation. Both say use Viagra several days a week, but not daily.

As for alcohol, it is advised not to drink when taking Viagra. My experience has been one drink doesn't make any difference in the drug's effectiveness. However, more than a drink has a negative effect.

If you're taking Viagra as therapy, I'm not sure you need to take it any specific time. If you're taking it for intimacy, then take it at least 20-30 minutes beforehand.

My Doc prescribed 20 mg of Cialis twice a week starting immediately after my catheter was removed. This was for circulation to prevent atrophy. It is also for improved erections. After about 11 months I was switched to Sidenafil (Viagra) 20 mg daily to prevent atrophy and for improved erections. For sex I was told to take up to 5 each 20 mg Sildenafil tablets approximately 30 minutes prior. I did have a very mild headache and some stuffiness the morning after Cialis but nothing bothersome. I do not seem to experience any side effects from up to 100 mgs of Sildenafil. For me they both work better regarding erections on an empty stomach. Too much alcohol seems to diminish the effects of both somewhat but alcohol did that to me before surgery as well. Alcohol has not caused any other side effects that I can tell. For me the Sildenafil works better than the Cialis. 20 mgs of Sildenafil seems to work just as good as 100 mgs for me. I generally take it in the evening.

With surgery, it may be preferable to take higher dose Viagra for on-demand use than to take it every night prophylactically. The reason is because ED meds have a stimulatory effect on the urinary tract, which runs counter to what he's trying to achieve in terms of continence.

I hope his doctor will start him on a full program of penile rehab as soon as the catheter comes out, including frequent use of a vacuum pump, and trimix injections if ED meds alone aren't enough. Early use of penile rehab often improves all those things more than waiting.

I was on one-a-day Cialis for most of the first year to avoid atrophy, also with 100mg Viagra "when required".
Although it has a good effect, I don't like taking the Viagara often as it gives me that blueish/pink tinged vision and can lead to a headache if over energetic during the day.
I like a beer (usually only one a day) but virtually had to stop as it always caused leakage several hours later. Strangely half a bottle of Champagne has no similar effect.
