Late this evening Gary's newest grandchild entered the world. Vanora was tiny and early due to Mom's high blood pressure, weighing only 5lbs 6 oz, but everyone is doing fine. Our oldest son's first child.
Tonight I was going to start the thread documenting Gary's end of life journey, but today is a day of new beginnings, so that thread will have to wait awhile.

Congratulations Beth. Birth is such a wondrous thing, and all the more special when it is one of yours, whether a child or grandchild. And as you note, (and your forum name indicates) a new life is to be celebrated.

I am sure little Vanora will provide both you and Gary with much joy over the coming weeks and will ease the difficulties you are facing.

What fantastic news Beth! Congratulations to all. I am so pleased Gary will get to spend some time with Vanora now (really cool/interesting name BTW!).

After diagnosis my three married children presented me with three grandchildren two girls and one boy within a year I know that the birth oh grandchildren is life being carried on I'm glad you had the opportunity to have a granddaughter I know how much it means. My only hope is to watch them grow as I hope my health
remains with as much life as I can to present them with the knowledge of who their grandfather is or was...

Wow...three kids all within a year! Do they all live nearby? They must be about 3?? What a barrel of monkeys that must be when they are all together at same time!!LOL
I think you will have time to be wonderful influence in their lives.
Isabella has never known her p-paw without cancer,because he was dx'd when she was only two. She just turned nine and Gary has been a major influential figure in her life. (Not always for the better mind you)

Gary lives on in his new born granddaughter and will for decades...I truly believe that.
