This site has tons of information about everything involving prostate cancer from surgery, doctors and drugs.
I truly believe that our mental well being is as important as the physical. We often talk about depression, which can lead to stress/anxiety which makes our cancer feel worse if not make it worse. Two of my favorite movies are "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" and "Blazing Saddles" and tv shows is between "Last man standing" with Tim Allen and "The Office"
Short movies the "Three Stooges" and "Laurel and Hardy" for sure. What say all of you?? and maybe laugh when you think of that movie and watch it again! Its time to turn on you tube or Nextflix and laugh your butt off

Thanks for starting this thread, Tj.

I've been thinking the last couple of days, how sick I am of cancer. Not just my situation. But a family members situation. I'm sick of thinking bout it, sick of talking about it, and sick of worrying about it. I'm even thinking of taking a vacation from all 4 cancer forums I'm active on. (so if I disappear for a while, you'll understand, and know why)
So this is timely, thank you.

Also, if anyone remembers, Soap. Funniest show ever. Wife and I used to order in Chinese food every night when it was on, and prepare for it by doing things that are now legal in some states but I still can't mention it her without violating the rules. Then we'd laugh our tushi's off watching Soap.

Those were really the good old days. No headaches, no troubles. And it seemed like life would be nothing but fun, forever.

Funniest movies: Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles. Although Despicable Me is pretty close. As is The Bucket List (Laugh till you cry-what is Kopi Luak?)
Funniest short: The attack of the killer tomatoes, anything by Chuck Jones (Road Runner etc)
Funniest TV show: SNL in the great days of Jim Belushi, coneheads, and Mr. Bill.

Growing up in the 1970s ...

The first few seasons of SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE ... when it first premiered in the mid-1970s ...

You remember the original cast ... Chevy Chase, Dan Akroyd, Jane Curtin, Gilda Radner, John Belushi ...

A funny movie from that time period that I just thought of, out of the blue ...

National Lampoon's ANIMAL HOUSE ... starring John Belushi ... college life, toga parties, food fights, fraternity parties ...

Yes, much of what has already been presented here... Seinfeld, Scrubs, Soap (Billy Chrystal as a T/S before it was "in"), Two and a half men, Modern Family - excellent writing, plus let me add Big Bang Theory. I used to like Just Shoot Me, but only a couple seasons were ever released on DVD.

Movies: Something about Mary always great. Just about anything by Mel Brooks. Plus we like some lighthearted Disney flicks... Finding Nemo, Ratatouille. Even more we like funny dramas like RED, Knight and Day, Fifth Element, Demolition Man.

Movies: The Hangover ("Mr Tyson would like to know what is his tiger doing in your bathroom?"), Monty Python's Meaning of Life ("It was the salmon mousse!"), Vacation, Christmas Vacation ("Eddie, if I woke up tomorrow with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn't be more surprised than I am now"). Ghostbusters, Airplane, Animal House.

TV: Seinfeld, Arrested Development, Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, Are You Being Served?, Black Books, Fawlty Towers. The Office, 30 Rock.

Black Books is a lesser known gem of a show about a London bookshop owner who can't stand his clientele (and neither can Basil Fawlty in Fawlty Towers). Sometimes I can really empathize with Bernard Black and Basil Fawlty.

Favorite funny movies: The Big Lebowski*, the 1966 Batman movie** with Adam West, Young Frankenstein, Buster Keaton's The General (silent). Also, the 1999 film, Dogma***, mostly for Alan Rickman.

Shorts: I like the Three Stooges and the classic Warner Bros Cartoons -- Duck Amok, What's Opera, Doc?, Duck Dodgers in the Twenty-third and a Half Century, Rabbit of Seville, etc..

Funny TV: Yes, I loved Soap but I have to give it to Green Acres** for largely-unrecognized comic genius. Also, early SNL, Monty Python's Flying Circus, and The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. And Johnny Carson when he was on a roll.

*Note: first viewing of Big Lebowski doesn't count. The movie has flaws that bother you the first time but on your second viewing you are over them and can see how funny the movie is.

**Yes, I am a fan of absurdist comedy.

***I don't generally like crass comedy but I do like Dogma. I don't recommend it to people who are easily offended. It has something in it to offend almost anyone.

Seinfeld looks like the big choice. I liked Seinfeld also - favorite episodes were the ones where George did everything opposite the way he normally would and got himself hired by George Steinbrenner, and the one where George was supposed to be a Marine Biologist and retrieved Kramer's golfball from a whale's blowhole, but my favorite movie and tv shows were:

My favorite episode is the one where George got caught by his girlfriends mother eating food out of the garbage can in the kitchen.

I did that once, in my own house, got home from work and found a half a Big Mac in the garbage, wife caught me pulling it out and eating it. Kids leftover from McDonalds lunch

Wow these are great so far. Now when you have a few minutes go on you tube and look them up. I watched Johnny Carson the other day and he had on Mel Brooks wow I have not laughed that much in a long time.

Movies: 'Old School' and 'Step Brothers'. Depending on your tolerance for vulgarities, 'Ted' and 'Ted 2'are excellent.

Tv: 'Seinfeld' reruns and the show 'Veep'.
