One;
There are a whole whack of "How to lower PSA" hits on the internet.
If PSA itself is not harmful and in fact can be an indication of something not right, why would you want to lower a test number?

Are DIY PSA home tests snake oil.?

Tee Em - you are very wise. I haven't looked at home tests, but I doubt they are anywhere as sensitive or precise as a lab test. It's covered by insurance, so what's the point?

Why, thank you. It's like an aspirin; addresses the symptom, not the cause.

As near as I can see the DIY only shows good or bad, not a level.

One. There are men who believe that if something lowers a PSA test number, it must also be curing the reason the number was elevated..Many learn the hard way it doesn't always work that way...A few years ago, Saw Palmetto was all the rage....Today it languishes on store shelves....Same with Pomegranate..

To the public, PSA is a cancer test, so something that lowers PSA means that cancer has been prevented. Unfortunately, there are still a lot of MD's out there who don't know this.

My old Urologist - the one who had me on Cipro for a couple years and missed my cancer on the biopsy, encouraged me to take saw palmetto. I still have a couple bottles left, even though I no longer have a prostate.

I can be pretty sure it wouldn't do anything for micromets.

Amazing....there are far too many old guard urologists who just go through the motions, whitout much of a 21st Century clue.

I could add a couple of names to the list. ;-)
