Mary,
There is great sorrow in my heart in reading of your husband Dan’s passing. You both have touched countless lives here on Healing Well. Just know that you are family, and we all support you and care about you greatly. Your loss is our loss also. We are all battle brothers with many courageous caretakers. You were one of these for Dan. You and he gave us an inspired way to live our lives. In choosing the title of your post, it is so true, he is now at peace, no more tears, no more pain.
You will naturally grieve, but stay strong in the wonderful memories that you shared together. Keep those memories and dreams with you and just know that he is still with you, every day, in every way. He is now like others have said, your guardian angel.
My wife told me today she does not know how she will make it without me. I told her that she will be fine, and I’m not going anywhere soon. She is actually much stronger than me.
I just met a lady at a yard sale that was raising money for childhood leukemia. I saw a poster of her son, three year-old Devon. I thought how touching for her to do this. Then I read another poster “In memory of Devon.” She knew the pain but was still dedicated to easing that pain in seeking a cure to benefit others. That’s priceless.
My Dad passed away years ago and I dearly miss him. But my brother told me one day that every time he sees a penny on the ground, he picks it up, keeps it, looks up, and says, Thanks Dad for thinking of me. Pennies from heaven indeed. That is what I think now also. Bless you and many prayers to you and your family.
I can feel Dan’s spirit soaring right now as on Wings of Eagles,
I was especially touched as my name is also,
Dan
