Well, it is fitting that a new thread has begun, as Gary 's journey through this life ended this afternoon. I was unable to get him comfortable last night, and this morning I knew the end was near. He succumbed with myself and his son and baby granddaughter at his side. I am heartbroken and miss him horribly already, but I know as this journey ended, it has taken him to a place where he is finally at peace and free from pain. Now, I must embark on a journey of my own in trying to live my life with my best friend no longer by my side.
I am so honored that through all of this, I have acquired an additional family here at HW. Thank you for sharing our journey and being a part of our lives.

So sorry, Beth.

I haven't been posting on your thread about your husband, as it kind of reminded me of how I saw my stepfather (since I was 14 years old) decline from PC until he passed over 2 years ago, after a tough 6 year battle, and how my mom is now alone after nearly 40 years of their being together.

I'm truly sorry for your loss and wish you only the very best.

May he, and you, have some peace now.

I am so sorry that Gary has passed away. His end of life journey could not have been a more loving experience. You were more amazing in the attention and support you gave day in and day out. We all hurt with you and for you. However, Gary is out of the hurt of this life now. Blessings on your life during this difficult time.

Oh Beth...I am so very sorry to hear that your shared journey has come to an end. The love and respect you shared with Gary was so clear and I know that must have been a great comfort to him throughout.

Beth, although we all knew this was coming, it's still so hard to take. When I read your post, I had to catch my breath. There are no words, I can only say I am so sorry for your loss. I hope you find peace, and I hope you are comforted in knowing that peace is what Gary has found.

I Have been following your's and Gary's journey through this disease. Feel assured that he knew you were there with him throughout it all. You are an extremely strong woman. Celebrate the life Gary and you shared. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.

So sorry Beth. Even though we all knew it was coming, it still hits hard.

Nothing we can say here will soften the grief you must be feeling, but I hope it offers some comfort to know that your "family" is right here with you.

So sorry to hear this, Beth. Even when we know it's coming, it seems to always be too soon. Gary was so fortunate to have you by his side. And we have been fortunate to have you here, sharing this whole journey.

Gary went through so much, with a very difficult situation from the outset.

Beth I know there are no words right now that can describe what you and your family are going thru at this time of sorrow. May you find love and comfort from each other to get you through this time. So very sorry

Beth and family,
These are no words to truly express what you are going through right now. You and Gary had a special bond as you fought this beast together, with bravery, courage and dignity. You taught us all a lesson, how to live with love, caring, and pride of family. We can only hope to learn that lesson and take it with us always, as I will always remember your struggle.

Now is the time to gather Family close, and indeed as your name on HW will always remind us to Celebrate his life. He will now be as close as your thoughts , no longer physically, but spiritually with you, always.

Please find your peace that surpasses all understanding. Truly, Gary is now your caretaker. Your guardian angel, as you were for him. I know that he is keeping a watch over you and your family. He is soaring with the angels on wings of eagles, free and at peace.

God surely blessed you with a wonderful man in Gary, it was evident how much he loved you and his family, and he leaves a powerful legacy. Take care and bless you , my Sister,
