I was just diagnosed at age 52, but my journey has been long... It actually started when I was 42 years old. A few members of my family had colon cancer and I was advised to start getting checked out for that at around age 40. My father, who has had BPH but never cancer, offhandedly stated at that time, "Y'know, you might as well get your prostate checked out as well." So, I made appointment with his doctor. Here's how the story rolled out starting in 2008:

Prostate measurements: 6.4 x 3.4 x 3.8 cm; volume 43 cc
I'm now in the "info gathering" phase and am exploring all my options for treatment.
