PSA after 7 years Brachytherapy.

Seven years after LD Brachytherapy, my PSA checked last week came to 0.18 so I am still happy with my results. Now I just wish all my fellow PC guys can have similar good numbers also.

Thanks to all who responded as those responses mean a lot to an OLD codger like me. Ya know, I truthfully totally forget that I HAD any PC until the day prior to getting a CBC/ PSA test. Now, all I have to do is get through a Cystoscopy next Monday 7/31 to make certain the Bladder Cancer is still dormant. If it isn't one thing, it's another.

More good news. Had my "every three months" Cystoscopy this morning and the Doc said the bladder looks excellent (no cancer recurrence) and his word for the results was "boring". Another three months and get another Cystoscopy and will be on this schedule for one more year, then every six months. The procedure is almost NOTHING but it's the two and half hour drive each way to the facility. He also indicated the PSA was very good.

There are many success stories on this site regarding brachytherapy with minimal side effects. It surprises me that more men do not go this route.

Seriously though, I agree. The recovery alone makes it a much better option, in my opinion, and it has the same long term cure rates.

Great news Bob , I'm 48 and newly diagnosed with Pc , taken a couple of months to decide but going to go forward with brachy . Great to see some good results , steve
