Three Year Update - Post Surgery

I had my 3 year follow-up yesterday and was awaiting the results and they are in . . .

"PSA undetectable, great!" <0.1

I always feel the relief as many of you know when I get these back.

While I don't like that I had prostate cancer (like anyone else), I am thankful that I had a great urologist when he did the DaVinci robotic surgery. I just continue to pray for a cure. I will do my annual Dad's Day 5K run here in Houston and continue to raise money for prostate research. I have been running it for about 7 years now, previously ran in honor, then memory of my dad, memory of my two grandpas & an uncle. This year I ran it in memory of those three and in honor of one of my uncles who was just diagnosed.

For us on AS......where did you have your surgery? any issues 3 years after surgery.

Congratulations ! Looking forward to follow in your footsteps ... ran my first 3 mile run today 10 weeks after RALP.

How was your ED , has it full function recovered , I'm still working Towards recovery on that front.

Htownman and ddyss - I had my surgery at Memorial Herrmann in The Woodlands. I have no problems with anything - one of the lucky ones. I did have to use Trimix for about 3 months and take 5 mg of Cialis once a week, but have no problems with incontinence (except when one of my grandkids run up to me and jump up to me on a surprise) and no problems with erections. It did take me about nine months post surgery to get erections on my own - without using Trimix. I really like my urologist and researched all over on what I wanted to do.

Congrats Jay, well done! I just hit my two year "all clear" mark yesterday! Enjoy.
