Anyone had Cancer treatment in Seattle?

Would like to hear from anyone who has been treated at UWMC or the Alliance in Seattle which includes Fred Hutchinson.
General info like treatments, SE's, Doctors.

Also look at the Swedish Medical Center. They have a large prostate cancer practice which includes SBRT/Cyberknife and brachytherapy.

I had 'the surgery' in 2013 at UWMC by Dr. Bruce Dalkin. The old UW hospital can look a little grim but they really took great care of me there and I recommend the place. Dr. Dalkin could be a bit prickly but he got the job done as promised. So, all in all, recommended.

I had all my treatment (so far) at SCCA and UWMC. My urologist/surgeon was Dr William Ellis, my radiation oncologist for SRT was Dr Kenneth Russell and my Medical Oncologist was Dr Robert Bruce Montgomery. All were excellent. I was last treated there in 2015 and have since moved to Chicago but would go back in a minute if I needed to.

8/21 I will see RO Jay Lilao and on 8/31 I will see Dr. Ellis.

I feel really good about having all of the possibilities for treatment in Seattle. I am just hoping for the option of a really good team.

I have made the decision to have surgery. I have now ruled out radiation as some of the styles are precluded ( duration of treatments or size of prostate ) and others I just don't want to do.
You have been kind enough in the past to respond so was hoping I might get a little more info concerning your respective treatments. I have read past posts but just wanted to touch bases again.
A week from tomorrow I see Dr. Ellis at U of W. Just having difficulty deciding on open or Robotic. I know this is a very personal decision with relatively equal outcome numbers.

When I had my surgery four years ago I didn't think robotic was far enough along to choose it. But now, it's probably a coin toss (as far as outcomes) and if you like your doc I just go with what he suggests. I really didn't have any problems with regular surgery at all. Keep us in the loop with how this goes for you!
