Elevated PSA + Negative Biopsies...Symptoms Worse...What's next?

A) - Prostate, RIGHT APEX benign prostatic parenchyma.
B) - Prostate, RIGHT MID benign prostatic parenchyma.
C) - Prostate, RIGHT BASE benign prostatic parenchyma.
D) - Prostate, LEFT APEX benign prostatic parenchyma.
E) - Prostate, LEFT MID benign prostatic parenchyma.
F) - Prostate, LEFT BASE benign prostatic parenchyma.

I am seeing my urologist tomorrow as a follow up to my 4/14 appointment / biopsy. Since my last visit, I have had increased urinary problems (frequency, weak / split stream, start/stop, etc.) also have issue with either obtaining full erection or maintaining full erection. I have also seen a drastic change in the volume of ejaculate, sometimes completely dry.

With the number of biopsies taken in April, something like 12, and all same results (benign prostatic parenchyma); is there any possibility that biopsies missed something? Should I have another round of biopsies or just wait and watch and repeat PSA?

Any suggestions would be beneficial. Thank you!

Hi Taylor. My parter had a large tumor located in the Transitional Zone of his prostate. When discussing this with his urologist, he (the urologist) told us we were 'lucky' the tumor had been located by the biopsy, and that the specialist who performed the biopsy had done a 'very good' job of finding the cancer, as it was in a location where tumors are often missed or not detected easily by biopsy.

So I guess it's worth staying vigilant to ensure they haven't missed anything. Old Sailor has given you great advice.

The problem with the trans-rectal biopsy is that it can not reach the entire gland..There is a spot the biopsy needles simply can not reach..The saturation biopsy is performed differently and it can reach the entire gland..If there is cancer, it will find it..
