Bad news- Any hope?

My dear dad just received the results of his latest scans. Two new spots in lungs and the one spot on liver had grown from 2.6 cm to 13 cm. He still has no symptoms, good appetite, no weight loss and feels good other than being tired from the weekly Taxotere infusions.

So- ended Taxotere today and will start Zytiga with prednisone and continue with Lupron.

Just looking for some hope. Anyone else have Taxotere fail but see results with Zytiga?

In some cases, most cases, Zytiga can work miracles..I got a nice two year remission on Zytiga......

Zytiga consists of two drugs, the Zytiga and Prednisone, taken at different times. You need to set up a schedule and use the pill-box they give you..

After I finished up a series of TAXOTERE chemotherapy treatments, my doctor then recommended we add ZYTIGA to my treatments.

ZYTIGA drove my PSA down even lower than the chemotherapy treatments had done.

I saw encouraging results from ZYTIGA within the first month.

To keep track of my progress on ZYTIGA, I decided to start saving the empty bottles. I just received my 28th monthly bottle of ZYTIGA and it has helped me a great deal these past 28 months.

I participated in a 5K distance event recently for prostate cancer awareness and I will be in a 5K "Race For The Cure" event this weekend.

I stay active with my career, my family, my friends, my hobbies, and social events.

Yes, there is hope ... I hope something in my story will encourage you and your father.
