Unlike many who have posted here, I am not experienced in doing
lots of weights, nor of knowing the best approach as to reps and sets,
that could help (even if somewhat) while being on ADT.
I realize the exercise might not build muscle but am interested in
best approach to weights, so can do what I can.
For example, until recently, I was not adding additional weight to lift even though
could easily have done so, due to feeling I could injure myself.
(we're talking about adding 1 lb to 10 or 15 pounds, for example, mostly
using dumbbells (wont be able to use barbells, and can't rely on being
able to get to gym that has the machines)
Found out that was not a helpful approach.
When I read about studies related
to exercise while on ADT, the approach they used in the studies are hard
to understand, related to how they had the participants do the weight lifting
activities, related to number of sets, reps, and was weight added or subtracted
in the second or third sets, and so on; often referring to a term of 1RM as a baseline.
I know this topic in general is broad and often disagreement among trainers and experts.
===> But for specific of most efficient way to exercise while on ADT,
do you have any simplified suggestions on how to approach number of reps and sets
and does on lower or raise weight on additional sets, and so on ?
Am trying to keep this simple to try to ensure success of at least doing the
weight sessions, but realize I've got to do it differently than I had in the past.
Wish I could describe this better here, but just have not had the experience
with weight training.
