Locating treatment

An update -- we're thinking we're going with bracytherapy. The VA doesn't do it at their centers so they referred us to Robert & Beverly Cancer Treatment Center in Pomona, CA. Anyboy by chance of any knowledge of this place?

On another note -- he has Medicare with United Healthcare supplement. We've never used it as we've always gone to the VA. If we decide not to use the VA's recommended location, I want to pursue other alternatives. I have no idea what is covered with Medicare & United Healthcare - and we can't afford much out of pocket. But my question really is -- I'm in Riverside, CA and want to find the best treatment locally -- where would I start looking?

Did you look into the RO in West Covina?

Whatever facility you choose, make sure you ask them what you will be covered for. Their billing department should be able to tell you. FWIW, I have Medicare and AARP/UnitedHealthcare and the combination has covered everything up to date at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NY, just as an example.

Thanks John T -- Rancho Mirage is going the right direction from Hemet -- way better trip than Pomona or Duarte.

It's just so overwhelming -- I feel like we can just shop/research ourselves out of our minds. It's just hard to know where to start or stop.
