Six years ago in November I had a biopsy which started me down this path.

Four years ago this month at age 65 I had morphine level pain in my lower back and abdomen and was in the ER and hospital, where I was diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer to 20+ bones and 15-ish lymph nodes, and a PSA of 5,006. Today I remain pain free and have a PSA of 1.4. I am very Grateful for the success of my treatments and the relatively good luck of my cancer biology, so far. I am more than Grateful for the loving support of my wife and family, and all the other supporters and people I have been able to interact with during the past four years. I may never be Cured of this disease, but I have been Healed in many ways.

I finished my 28 IMRT's a year ago on the ninth of this month. I'm getting tested on the 20th. Starting to get a bit anxious but thankful for everything. Best wishes to all in their journeys.

November 23rd - First anniversary of my final SBRT treatment. PSA has been gradually going down very nicely.

Thanks for all the warm wishes and support. I couldn't have done it without all of you.

November 2016 biopsy confirmed been not so good of year since! But like so many on here have a great wife and family and friends for which I am very grateful for cause a lot of people don't have these and it would be really tough sledding with this darn disease!! Another 3 inches of snow again over 10 now for the year gets your mind off this disease when your out shoveling!! turn LOL

I see you recently started Lupron. Sorry to be a buzz kill, but having a hot flash while snow shoveling is a definite possibility. Savor the paradoxical moment. turn

Thanks! November is my birthday month!

It might also have been the month I was diagnosed with PC. I don't really remember if it was November or December. That's an unimportant detail in my life.

I couldn't tell you what month I had surgery, either. I know where to look it up, if needed. I know the year...2009, which is close enough for filling out Medical History forms. I'm 95% confident, however, that surgery was in either Feb, Mar, Apr or May.

November 21st 2013 RALP - Had over 3 years undetectable......not now.

Thankful for the time I've had and am having.

I don't visit the site that often anymore but for the first five years I would check in 3 or 4 times a day. This site was a life-saver for me, someone was always here who knew exactly what I was going through.

My life is normal now but different, it's a new normal. Other than the first 2 months, 11 years ago, I've had to use 1 pad a day. Pills never worked for me so for the past 5 or 6 years I've been using TriMix with great success. At my last doctor visit he said there was a newer method for checking the PSA level and after 10+ years it being 0.02 it was now <0.004.

Life is good, you adapt and move on because you have no other choice.

Thanksgiving week 2006 I learned that I had prostate cancer. Eleven years ago. My wonderful grandson was a month old. He's now in fifth grade playing the guitar loud and fast and a straight A student. My wife of 41 years died in 2011. I retired in 2012. My life is quiet, calm, easy, and stress free. I wish that could be the same for more of you. This place kept me sane in the early days of my cancer journey. I thank you all.

NKinney - Happy Birthday! This month is also my birthday as well as my wife's. We are one week apart.

My birthday three years ago (2014) was the worst day of my life, which led to 2.5 years of severe depression. Lupron only made it worse. Venlafaxine saved me, and my marriage.

MK1965 - I had an orchiectomy on Oct 12, 2012 following a Spermatocelectomy in 2001 just before 9/11.

November 2013 was when my PSA began to skyrocket. The start of an arduous trail.

November 20, 2016. Doctor confirmed I had mPC. Received my first (at last dose) of firmagon. Next night my wife choreographed my 55th birthday with a surprise party. Many friends and family. To this day I, I appreciate my wife's fortitude through this process. Love you Laurie.
