This forum/discussion board has been so helpful a few months ago when I joined, so I have a new concern/topic.
I am roughly 8 months post Radiation and my last (of 6) Firmagon shots was June 30th.
3 mo. PSA level was .16
6 mo. PSA level was .24
My scores and facts at DX:
2 0f 12 positive cores. 3+3 with only 5% positive, and a 3+4 with 20% positive of the sample
PSA 6.63
45 radiation treatments 1/27 until 4/3/17 and six months of Firmagon/Degrallix
No cancer symptoms at any time before or after. No side effects from the radiation. Firmagon side effects had been only injection site swelling and pain, and Firmagon flu like symptoms for about 12 hours after injections, and of course no libido and probable impotence. (Wife divorced me in June, so no opportunity either)
Now for the current concern: T levels are way low at the 6 month appointment and libido is still non existent. Recently I have noticed tighter fitting clothes and a substantial weight gain from the beginning of the treatment period until now (20 lbs or more) Since I am newly divorced I know I am not taking much care of myself with little exercise and hit or miss diet but is that much gain related to Firmagon? It is most noticed in my belly area, including the constant pouch like area where several of the injections were administered.
