Just had my last follow up with my RO at MDA - woot! Two years after radiation my PSA is still undetectable smile I'm getting a physical every nine months and my RO said that would be fine.

Even though I've had literally world class care here, I dread coming back because of everything I've been through with this disease. I think of walking down the long hallway at the Rotary House hotel after surgery with my bag of urine in tow every hour of every day for ten days.

Then away from home for two months for radiation, sigh. The good Lord willing, I'll never need to return.

Thank you guys! I would have responded yesterday but MDA left me a little present - food poisoning-like (probably flu) symptoms starting about 3 pm. I was cold and shaking, nauseous and I went to bed. Bad move. about an hour later I tossed my cookies (lunch actually) all over my face, torso and some of the bed. Dear wife called housekeeping and they came to the rescue.

What an ordeal.

Thanks again guys for the well wishes and advice. We picked up the dog from the kennel and made it home at 2 pm. I'm running a low grade fever and generally feel lousy and I'm thinking I've got the flu or a stomach bug.

My wife found a sort of sports drink last night with electrolytes in the vending machine on the floor and I was sipping that for hydration. Finally got hydrated today.

Congrats on the last visit and sorry about the food poisoning. Living outside of Houston I know how good MDA is with everything. Cheers and blessings!

Hey, it happened to me! The day of my wife's final chemo (r-chop), a Friday, I ate a turkey sandwich from the lunch cart at the infusion center. A few hours later I was puking my guts up and expelling gobs of diarrhea. The dry heaves went on all night and thru the next day. Overall I lost eight pounds that weekend.

Fortunately I was able to drive her back to the hospital the following Monday for her spinal.

Some say cancer is rougher on the caregivers than it is on the patient.

Sheesh John - you've really been put through the wringer!
Fantastic results though (except for the poisoning episode).

Thank you again fellows for the well wishes. I slept extremely well last night - finally! My digestive system is back up to speed so all of this will be a distant memory in a few more days.
