Hi everyone,
My dad had BPH around october 15th, he was taken to the hospital and had a catheter put in for about 3 weeks or so and was put on Avodart and Flomax. On approx. nov 15, he received a blood test and the results of the test, which we received yesterday (dec 7), show that he had a PSA of 15. His doctor wants to follow up in 6 weeks.
Could the high PSA still be as a result of the BPH? If it is cancer, why was the Avodart effective? I read it doesn't affect benign or malignant prostate cells.
Thanks everyone,
Mikey
