Dr Christopher Pope Carti in Conway AR. I had an oncologist come into the hospital room after my RP asking why I didn't have an oncologist already working with me. I told him my doctor said there was no need. He then preceded to tell me with my originating test scores and age I should have already had one involved. That it was an aggressive cancer and he recommends us to get with one right away. When I told my urologist that I wanted to get set up with one and what the doctor said he got angry basically called him an ambulance chaser. Then tells me there is nothing an oncologist can do for 3 months anyways. I have since then found out that is not true. I could have started treatments right away. Instead I am sitting here watching my PSA rise and the urologist changing his tune because the PSA is persistent and at too high a level to be local anymore.
Scott, very sorry to hear about
how your URO both handled your initial case and how he continues to react to all of this. Honestly, at least based upon the information you have shared, I would contact a medical malpractice attorney, as you may actually have a case to pursue. Your URO seems to be playing by rules that were out of date ten years ago even. It is upsetting to see these kinds of things still happening today, but it does happen obviously. Sometimes practitioners like this need to learn the hard way, via legal consequences.
