Enzalutamide 2

I have only heard fro one person regarding my last post. I am trying to get information on the use of Enzalutimine in their treatments. I am going to be participating in a blind study at Hopkins which may include the use of the drug. From what I have heard, Enzalutamide use is showing very favorable results. Anyone?

You should be a bit more specific about the trial to get good info.
Is this the trial where some will get leuprolide + enzalutamide and others just leuprolide?

May I suggest putting the word Xtandi in the search bar? - you'll find a lot of folks' experience.

I assume you are non-metastatic and hormone sensitive. Did they check to see whether your cancer is still localized using mpMRI and PET/CT?

I am posting because my use is uncommon. I had 2 mets during an off period of ADT in 2012 followed by RT to mets and nodes and prostate bed (RP in 06). I continued on/off ADT until 2016 when my onc recommended an on treatment period with only Xtandi 4/day. After six months or so and <0.006 psa he reduced it to one Xtandi per day. I changed oncs last year and the new onc said try one pill per day for 5 days out of seven (skip two days per week). I have a blood draw next week to see results.
Fatigue is reduced for certain compared to full 4/day dose, bone density is assured with T=700. Some breast growth on start of this regimen, though it stopped after the first few months once endocrine system stabilised (is that right wording?).
All this is approved by insurer since mets pre-dated all treatment with Xtandi. No mets since 2012.
One thing I learned when changing treatment providers is to be sure that ALL diagnosis codes transfer. Patients may be concerned about prescriptions transferring to new provider but codes are super significant. Codes are what allow the treatments to be covered. Not just the diagnosis name but the code number such as 181.3a, etc.
