....but what is the next step after a positive biopsy???
I have serious Lupron brain fog, so forgive me if I'm repeating something from previous posts...
If the biopsy is performed at Duke I'd suggest visiting their multi-disciplinary clinic. You get to meet with a surgeon, medical oncologist, and radiation oncologist. Duke holds these weekly so it's easy to get a quick appointment. They pair you with a group that treats your cancer type. They meet before you come in and discuss your case, but each one gives you their perspective, opinion, and advice. It's a quick, easy way to get 3 new opinions without having to wait for multiple appointments. You can do this in addition to going to a different medical center for second opinion.
I was offered this option prior to my surgery, but did not take advantage of it. That was a mistake. I did take advantage of it prior to SRT.
Best wishes,
Ed
