Hi there, so I'm 3 weeks post surgery and 1 week without the catheter. For incontinence I seem to be the opposite of everyone. Minor dribbles during the day, but when I sleep the flood gates open! Any thoughts? I stop drinking at 7pm and retire about 11pm. I do take 1/2 Zoplicone to help me sleep. That may contribute. Just anxious about being different than everyone else. Thanks. BTW... I'm 52, kegel everyday, no issues prior to surgery.

When you say you stop drinking at 7, drinking what and how much? If it's alcohol, bingo. Relaxes the sphincter. If it's not, I can't say. Maybe someone else in the forum will have some ideas.
If your surgeon has a PA or RN devoted to post-surgical care, give them a call. They often have a lot of experience responding to patient concerns in the first week or so after catheter removal, and they've heard it all.

No alcohol, just green or herbal tea usually. Don't drink coffee either.

You might just need a few more weeks for the incontinence to resolve.

Nights were always my problem too. I think my pelvic floor gets too relaxed when in bed.

Same for me. about 90 minutes into sleep (when you are supposed to be in deep sleep) bingo! Time to go. I feel the same way, everything is relaxed, including bladder sphincter.

Mojo- The only advice I can give is what worked for me and that is if your able to start walking then walk some more and then keep walking. Walking helped me as much or more than the kegals. You might try cutting down on caffeine, fruit juices, alcohol if you drink and try drinking more water. Hang in there pretty soon it will be a memory.

Funny you should say that Skypilot56. I started walking outside 3 days ago, adding more each day. Last night, I barley leaked, woke up twice holding it in and went for a pee. I've always done lots of hiking so it felt great to get back out there. Thanks everyone.

An update. Walking about 3-4 kms a day seems to have really helped. Done with the Man Diapers, just using pads for minor leaks when I stand-up or bench press 300lbs (kidding). I do need to get up about three times a night to pee but holding while I sleep very well. I drink a lot during the day but stop at about 5pm.

Glad to hear you're making steady progress. Good chance you'll see the number of pit stops during the night come down soon, too. Keep doing Kegels as well as walking.
