Second and final round of HDR BT is complete. Had a minor issue and needed a foley. I will go back at 8 am to have it removed. The second round also had more discomfort after catheters were inserted, while with on radiation. Accepted pain meds but that was a mistake. I was goofy until bedtime. One good outcome of foley is I did not have to get up last night!
Doc changed my meds from flowmax to Alfuzosin due to insomnia issues with Flowmax.
I will see the doc in six weeks to ensure everything is on track and then at three months with first PSA. His plan is to then do PSA every six months until nadir is reached.
I am really glad I chose this treatment, Dr. Biagioli, and Florida hospital. The medical staff are all amazing and they make treatment as comfortable as possible.
Got to get this foley out so I can play golf today! Must have priorities. Denis

Thanks for the update, Denis. Sorry to hear about
your needing to wear the catheter home. Hopefully all will be fine when they remove it today. I'm getting nervous. My first treatment is tomorrow morning.

Well, Denis, welcome to the "other" club -- those of us who have unexpected experiences in treatment. My "surprised" were not from my PCa treatment, but from
open-heart surgery some years ago. My "take-home buddy" from that is permanent - I have a pacemaker. At least your new friend is only temporary.
Either way, we both shall successfully navigate the minefields of medical treatment to continue to enjoy (relatively) normal lives, I'm sure.
I'm glad that your treatment is completed. Now, after a brief recovery, you'll be able to get back to your regularly scheduled life.

Good on you, Denis! Foley overnight’s not too big a deal. Swing free and hit ‘em long and straight!

Denis,
Great report. Similar to my experience as the second procedure was a bit more than the first because there isn't complete healing between the procedures. I didn't come home with a catheter, but really no big deal as you probably already have it out as I write this. You will do great. You should expect to be a bit tender for a week or more, but shouldn't limit your activities. I stayed away from hard chairs for a couple of weeks.
Expect three years or so to reach nadir. Don't worry about
nadir, just focus on decreases in the PSA and absence of symptoms from the treatment. Also expect a PSA bounce. It is normal and positive.
I am still convinced based on my research and experience that this is the very best treatment method for you.
Well done and get some birdies!!

Verojim , not to worry. Even the Cath was an inconvenience, they took it out this morning. One thing Dr. B told me to do is double the dose of the AZO for urinary burning. The first round I had two days of pretty severe burning. This round no burning. My perineum is sore, like the first time but I played golf today, so not too sore. You will be fine and through it before you know it. Denis

Congratulations on finishing up your treatment, Denis. That's got to feel good. Sorry you had to deal with the catheter, but at least it was only one night.
The main thing is: Did you hit 'em straight when you got out on the course?
