Unusual urine after prostatectomy

Hi all, I’m hoping I can get some advise. I had a prostatectomy Feb 1st (11days ago) and I still have the catheter for another 3 days. I haven’t had any urine issues at all but this morning I saw in the catheter bag that there was a very small amount (maybe half a size of a tic tac) of what looked like dots of coagulated blood, and some cloudy white debri that looked kinda like tissue. At that moment the urine looked slightly red tinted. I’m not sure if this is normal after a week and a half after the prostatectomy. Not sure if I should call my doctor. I feel no pain and I have no fever, only that the catheter is becoming more and more uncomfortable. I can’t wait to get it out. But now I’m concern that the blood means the anastomosis is not healed enough yet for the catheter to come off. Thank you for any advise.

Unlike most I had a significant amount of pain with my catheter...and whenever I would walk or move around too much it would hurt more "inside" and the urine would start turning pink. In fact my worst pain was evening #9 the night before I was going to have it removed. That actually because a medium rose color around midnight and was starting to freak me out.

The doctor told me some of the younger patients have more sensitive nerves to the irritation from those things. I think it's probably normal but agree with Andrew that a call to the doctor is fine if you're worried. I also peed out a little scab once around the 4 week mark that was preceded by a bit of pink in my urine several hours before.

Glad you called the doc. Most likely you'll be told everything is fine. Just a drop or two of blood can seem like a lot.

I actually continued to see an occasional speck come out in urine once in a while for a couple of months after surgery. Just figured that it was pieces from scabs breaking down and falling out. Doctor said it was entirely normal and soon enough, it was gone.
