Friday OT - How Did You Pick Your HW Screen Name?

I didn't see a Friday Funnies so thought I would add a little late week levity.

We have quite a variety of screen names here and I'm wondering how you guys picked yours. I'll start with mine...some years back I had a dream (nightmare?) that I was having a conversation with someone named Tudpock Bailey. Now I don't know any Tudpocks OR any Baileys so the genesis of the dream is mysterious. Anyway I decided that "Tudpock" would be a suitable anonymous name for this site and I chose the 18 after it because when I lived in Vienna, Austria I was in the 18th District.

Rob Lee is the screen name I use everywhere, at least anyplace where it is not already taken. Rob is for Robert, which is my middle name. My first name is father's name, so I was always Robbie as a kid. Lee is just an abbreviation for my surname, which cannot be pronounced by earthly tongues.

Married to my high school sweetheart 31 years, this song always reminded me of us we really were two American kids doing the best we could.

When I was in college as a history major I read Anna Comnena's "Alexiad" - her memoir of her father's reign as Byzantine emperor in the 11th century. There is a short passage where she describes Bohemond, who became her father's prisoner during the first crusade. Bohemond was a Norman (as in the Norman Conquest) therefore of Norse descent, and not at all the kind of "barbarian" she had seen before. She described him as tall, with blonde hair, broad shoulders, narrow waist, etc. From her description you can't but think she had the hots for him. Ever since, I've of thought of him as leader of a medieval biker gang -- not the kind of guy I aspire to be, but nevertheless someone who persists as a real person after thousand years because of the way Anna described him and what her description says about her own frame of mind at the time.

You can probably guess where my screen name comes from. I've actually regretted this since: 1) I wish I had more anonymity and 2) I could have had something fun. But when I first posted, I never thought I'd be here all these years later--I had just come looking to find out what to do?

logos...is word in greek...lidat is the the pidgin equivalent of like that...hence word...which is what a computers are all about... like that or if you must...etc...for the really boring...It took a life of its on...as folks thought I was interjecting "religion" onto the "forum"...they wouldn't let up onit...so I gave them what they did not want in a counter intuitive way...and they still can't shake their pretty lil heads clear...I tried...I really did ...to the extent that I changed it to Bozo...they still found something...oddly appealing about it...and would not let me just...be...thats as far as I am going with that...BTW Ive been toying with the idea of changing it to mythoslidat...as that is more to where I have posited myself...logoslidat seems bland and the future of yesterday past...mythos is the genisis of all seminal thought...only to be realized...in futures gone...There...now is that finally clear...
