Hi Friends,

I have a question, I have given up on Viagra and generic Viagra, I am 2 years now after my RP surgery and sparing my left nerve w/lymph node dissection. I can NOT have a full erection yet and perhaps only 40%, I had one about 3 months back for about 5 minutes but.. you know, it disappeared. I thought this was perhaps due to my wife being naked and me touching her. As that has not happened since. Fast Forward to yesterday. I was watching some Videos on a "p shot" or something like that that takes your own blood and separates it and then you get a shot of it back to your penis and it help grow nerves? Or this other process of some type of shocking mechanism? I think it started with a G, It was called GainsWave?

Does anyone know of a place in Seattle area that might be a place to go for ED stuff vs back to Dr. Porter's office at Swedish? I love Dr. Porter but for ED stuff, I hate to bother him.

I'm no doctor, but I am 18 month post-surgery. I'm also older than you are. I've recently had an erection suitable for penetration. Since my surgery I've used sildenafil for penile rehab, but not on a consistent basis. I saw a specialist in ED around 8 months ago. He encouraged me to stick with the drug therapy as I was having some results. The results didn't allow for sex, but were getting blood into the penis to keep it healthy.

I learned along the way that nerves can take between 1-2 years to heal after the surgery. Some patients may take longer.

You may be one of those who takes longer, especially since not all your nerves were spared. Ask a specialist about injections.

There's also a good book on the subject from John Mulhall, a Urologist at Sloan Kettering. I think it's called Saving your Sex Life. It's worth reading.

Penis pumps after prostate cancer surgery are mostly useless. They will help introduce more blood and thus promote healing, but are usually not helpful for sexual intercourse. By that I mean, you can pump and use constrictors to try to maintain the erection, but in my experience, they are not comfortable or conducive to intimacy.

The answer is pills, injections or implants.

You are way beyond pumping...get some Levitra just for grins and giggles...and since you are in SEA stop by an evergreen market and get a bit pineapple express... a couple of inhalations...at home may work wonders...actually it will

Thanks for the comments.. At this time, I am really trying to see if this P shot might be the answer vs Viagra or pumps. But....open to something that might work. With only one nerve, seems like it will be impossible for a full erection ever again smile

I understand you not wanting to use herbal therapy...but would not dismiss a change up to Levitra...after 2 years it spontaneously provided full erections...without stimulation...as if a fawcett turned on...since then...I switched to Viagra at 100mg...again full erections...but it will never be the same as before imo if you are over 60...in my case its there...but you gotta be quick... herbal helps a lot...but with my addictive personality(witness my fitness regime...no worries folks ill spare ya that)...anyway...smoke of any kine has not entered my lungs nor has edible pierced me lips..since Halloween(even I have no magical thinking there) Ahh...magical thinking...yesterdays thought experiments...todays phrase by pseudo practitioners of the wants...to minimize the dreams of the gots....no apologies...I give as good as I...receive...always responding to intent...as well as words...sans any magical button imprinted on pixles{or is it pixies} of iridescence...met at midnight... accompanied by a chimera of Nicodemus... Hey...I like words and riddles and mysteries...we all do...its quite human...uniquely so... smile

I think I am going to try the Vac Pump... after reading and reading, granted it's been 1.5 years, I still am hopeful. Also, I only have 1 side of nerves spared. Thanks to all smile

You have 40%, you have hope. My pt put me on a regiment to keep my penis tissue healthy. VAC every day at least 10 minutes. Every 5 days inject to get healthy oxygenated blood flow from inside. Ended up my URO said, he took all my nerves, so don't wait for recovery. Implant scheduled.

I am curious, perhaps in another section? The P Shot and now the Gainswave techniques? I am curious if those two options would actually work for someone with only one side of his nerves left after my RP w/lymph node dissection.

Thoughts?
