Well, gents, eight or so months after being diagnosed with Gleason 6 PCa (see sig), I say "hello" to the "staple gun" once again for a confirmation biopsy on Monday.
It'll be my sixth biopsy (yowsah!) by the age of 52, and I know the procedure and all, but this one's a bit different as it gives a "go/no go" regarding my continuing course of active surveillance. I know I'll be a bit tense on Monday, but I just keep telling myself to enjoy the weekend, focus on what ya do know, and don't fall into obsessing over the ever-widening abyss of unknowns.
Thanks to all the members who post their experiences and very important information. It's helped me a lot as I navigate the path on this journey.

6 biopsys!! Good thing you know the ropes.
If I read your signature right, your PSA hasn't changed much, so I hope you can stay on AS for a while longer. I'd say you are in good hands at MSKCC.

If you're still a G6 with a small percentage of involvement.....you should stay on AS! Good luck and hopes for long term AS in you future!

Well, I received the pathology report from Monday's confirmatory biopsy, and it revealed 1 core of 14, Gleason 3+3, 2% of core.
Given these results, the docs believe I am good to go regarding continuing with active surveillance... which is just downright fine by me!
A couple questions for the pros out there:
1. On this biopsy, the small amount of cancer was found on the left side. The previous biopsy only showed cancer on the right side. Does this raise different concerns?
2. On the benign samples, many were labelled with "chronic inflammation" -- is this just prostatitis? Could all of these biopsies (six now since 2009) have banged up my prostate a bit?
Thanks for everyone's help here.
