Going in tomorrow for robotic assisted laproscopic prostate removal. Nervous but I know the alternative is death so it needs to be done!
See you all on the other side.

hahaha....not quite so sure death is the alternative, but if you truly have a core of 4+4, then it looks like it's something you want to take care of.
Best wishes!

Been there, done that. I did good in post op recovery. I slept in my lazy boy for the week I had my cath in. Was deathly, irrationally afraid of pulling it out. Your Dr should have told you to take stool softener after surgery. DO IT! Wishing you the best.

Good luck. See you on the other side of the mountain as they say in the cardiac world.

May you have a smooth operation without any complications. Afterwards, as soon as possible, get up and do some walking. That will certainly help your recovery.

Probably tomorrow seems like a wall in front of you right now, but the day after tomorrow is only 48 hours away and then you will realize that life will keep going on with not so many changes after all. Well, you will have a cath to walk with for a few days, but it will go away and you will forget about
it soon. Hope everything will be perfectly smooth.

Thanks everyone. When I said death was the alternative that was meaning if you do nothing about
your situation.

All the best , toughest part is not eating part before surgery , make sure you keep some ice cream in the refrigerator for the party after tomorrow.

Good luck. I will keep you in my prayers. As soon as you are able, do all of the walking that they tell you to.

Good luck. You'll be fine. Dont rush recovery. Take it easy and stock up on movies and box sets, in between walks.

Surgery went well. I was the second surgery of the day for Dr. Ahlering. First surgery went 5 hours as the guy had hernias to repair as well as the prostate removal. Was waiting from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM before surgery. Surgery lasted 3 hours. Dr. said prostate came out easily so I am assuming that is a good sign. He is cautiously optimistic. Will have pathology report a week from today.
Two days later no blood in urine. 6 incisions show no sign of infection. Stomach swollen and incisions hurt. Will get catheter out next Tuesday. Had first poop yesterday. What a relief.
Prostate weighed 67 grams.
Doctor told me to walk 2 miles a day!
Just living one day at a time.

Excellent report. Glad for your relief. Yes, keep walking. When the cath comes out everything gets better quicker. Have a great weekend.

One of the many things that makes Dr. Ahlering special. He takes his time, makes certain he’s done all he can, and doesn’t blow smoke up your butt when he’s done.
Follow his advise and you’ll continue to do fine, Dreamer.

CD, welcome to the other side. Glad to hear it went well. What GoBucks said about
the catheter removal speeding recovery. It will be a day you will always remember.
