Well, several of you guys called it. The groin pain I’ve been feeling for months now is due to two lymphoceles, one on each side. I go to have them drained next week. Anything in particular I should expect with the drainage process? Any down time to be expected?

Mine self resolved...but what my local urologist told me... is that the lancing is done in the office...did not mention how or what after effects were...mine presented no pain...just malaise and low grade fever...you could elect to wait it out...but doctor know best on this ...especially if in pain...

Thanks, Logo. Oddly, I predominantly feel pain on the side where the smaller lymphocele is located. Although the larger one isn’t causing pain, it is near a vein and the urologist thinks it should be drained. A radiologist will do the procedure and, other than needing a driver, not much was explained. I assume it’s a simple process with no downtime but thought perhaps some of the forum members would have an experience to share. Thanks for your input and I’m glad yours self resolved.

Glad you found the answer and that it’s a fairly simple fix. My lymphocele resolved without intervention, so I don’t have experience with the procedure to drain it. Good luck, and keep us posted.

You might ask if they will check for infection....

Thanks, SP. It was a relief to find the source of pain was relatively harmless and easily resolved. BTW, I loved how your username was derived from autocorrect. Made me smile. Hope all is going well for you.

Thanks, Fairwind. The doctor asked about fever but the only other symptom I’ve had is malaise. I wish you well in your treatments.

Yeh let us know what they do...a radiologist...whoda thunk whats interesting is the pain...don't worry its good the nodes were negative

Thanks, Logo. I admit, the pain was a little worrisome although common sense, pathology, and undectible PSA said it shouldn’t be. Your description of malaise nailed how I’ve been feeling. Procedure is scheduled for Friday so I’m looking forward to feeling like surgery is finally behind. Hope all is going well for you.
