Update after 9.5 years

Went to Uro for 6 month checkup. Some of you may remember that I have started T replacement therapy. With that in mind I have a little more concern about my PSA.

Good news. PSA came back <0.05
T level came back as 322

I am feeling good and loving life.

One new issue: Dr found Inguinal Hernia on Rt side. Already had the left side done several years ago. Did not like that news. Dr said we will watch it for now.

Just wanted to let all of you know.

Wonderful to hear! Truly...one can hear the enthusiasm in your voice.

You were about half-a-year ahead of me—you, me and a few others are pretty much the old-timers here. From your signature, I'm guessing your experience back-in-the-day was probably somewhat similar to mine...little-to-no mention of the possibility of Active Surveillance (my experience), and quick surgery (exactly 1-month between diagnosis and the knife; your experience).

Sorry to hear about your inguinal hernias (and enduring ED)...the "old saying" gets validated yet again:

I enjoyed my recent visit to Cajun country. Visited BR, stayed down the road in the Nottoway Plantation (with one of the biggest, oldest Live Oaks in the state), then drove south & east on the winding 2-lane along the river for an hour or so (the proverbial scenic (sorta) backroads route, until it got really chemical/industrial) and was really surprised at the number of other plantations (probably saw 10, in various states of well-being) which were along the road.

(You're still doing 6-month check-ins with your uro? I haven't seen mine in years, although I email his PA my PSA results following my annual physical with my internist)

NKinney, you were less than 10 miles from my house when you were at Nottoway Plantation. Yep it was diagnosis and cut! What a shame.

Peter, It is inguinal way below the navel. Had the left side done a few years back. Hoping this one will hold so I dont need to get it fixed. If I do I will get a different surgeon.

Great idea, we could certainly share some "war" stories! I'll contact when I get off work in July. I'm up to my ears in shop right now (ha ha). You know how it goes. Doing chemotherapy and 19 days of school left for the kids but parents and teachers who never said a peep all year are now suddenly coming out of the wood work with problems that "must be fixed" before school lets out. Happens every year. Teachers love the end of the year, us school psychologists dread it. I bet you don't miss that aspect.

Even better, I'm going to make it to one of your get togethers one of these days. Stories are better while sipping some good Scotch.

Congrats on the 9.5, but hey who's countin. That's the thing, we'll still be counting, well at least to 10.5.
Come to think, I am 8.5, wow it doesn't seem that long. Hopefully your hernia wont be a big deal but will surely slow you down a while. good luck and keep that four leaf clover.
