Guys had surgery on the 5th was released from hosp Friday the 6th. So far so good except this foley cath. Can someone please tell me how they took a shower with this on. They told me it was ok to take a shower but they did not say if I needed to disconnect everything or keep it connected. I'm worried about
screwing something up getting an infection and then back into hosp, any help is greatful. Thanks

RR, I borrowed a shower bench, and did my showers sitting down, with the foley running down my leg and the bag on the bathroom floor. Don't disconnect--but be really careful that you don't get tangled up in the thing.

I carried the bag in in a small mesh bucket, then hung the bag hook up on the shower handle, or plopped it on the shower floor. No biggie really.

Same for me, I had a 5 gallon oval shaped bucket that I used to carry the bag around the house. I just took it in the shower with me.

My bag had a hook on it. Biggest challenge for me in the shower was remembering it was hung up beside me and I was connected to it.
We can do this

Ha, Island Time. Me too. Forgot it was hooked in the shower, forgot it was hooked on the bed.....fastest instant stops I've ever done in my life!

IT and We can, yeah...and there are horror stories of men who got tangled up and fell and pulled the thing out. I can't even begin to imagine what that would feel like.

Just do a hobo bath, wash under your arms, butt, and leave it at that. You will be free soon.

...to most folks, at least.
I used the leg bag and strap - no problem taking a shower or going to the grocery store or post office either.

Maybe I shouldn't have, but I disconnected the bag while I was in the shower.
