TA,
Yes, lots of reasons to be suspicious of the plan and it's side effects (some seem down right dangerous).
The reason I've even considering it is that the low fat diet the doctor has had me on for the last ten years has resulted in consistent weight gain (up nearly 40 lbs), increased triglycerides, and near diabetic levels of blood sugar. She suspects metabolic syndrome and if I don't loss weight or bring my blood sugar levels down, I'll be on medication in a few years.
I'm already grouchy and irritable.
It's not for everyone and I am not 100% sure it will work for me or that I can tolerate it, but what I'm doing now isn't working. Got to try something. If not full keto, than at least increase fat and reduce carbs.
and I'm tried of salad and yogurt for lunch, everyday ...
Andrew
I don't think your experience is uncommon. Hence, the reason I am going to start that new thread on this general subject about
so called heart healthy diets. And the damage some of these have caused. Hopefully you have not yet advanced to the stage of not only needing meds in geneal, but insuin specifically. Just think of the millions out there who treat a condition characterized by high blood insulin/ aka hperinsulemia
by injecting more insulin. No wonder so many of us are obese, pre or actual diabetic and hypertensive. And who told us to eat that way?
