CAdogsRus: I'll look for you at the August IPCSG. Excellent tip about Eclipse Chocolate. I live in downtown SD, about 2 miles from there, and that's the first I've heard of it.
Tall Allen: I previously spoke to another radiation oncologist in Dr. Fuller's practice group, who first explained the benefits of SBRT to me, but it was right after my diagnosis, and I didn't know enough at that time to ask the right questions. I think I will schedule a consult with Dr. Fuller to ask what he thinks about SBRT monotherapy for an unfavorable intermediate risk patient like me.
The U of Michigan and the Ascende studies yielded impressive results re: freedom from biochemical failure for combo therapy. It's my understanding that Sloan Kettering also uses combo therapy as the preferred treatment for unfavorable intermediates.
But that 15-20% likelihood of Grade 3 urinary toxicity from combo therapy scares me. Those are some heavy duty problems, even if transient.
