Bucket list

jack, you are lucky, i remember going to lurray caverns in virginia when i was a kid, when my 3 were little, i took them there. there are no caves here in sc, zip. there is an unfinished railroad tunnel (civil war) called stumphouse tunnel, pretty cool, about a half mile level walk, and only one public cave in all of NC, Linville Caverens. Wish there was something close to me. Not even a subway tunnel to explore.

You guys are awesome. I think I will ad visiting every state to my bucket list. Heck Jeff if I am there I might as well pee to. LOL

Us Catholics have been known to have a beer or a glass of wine so I suppose I will join you and geezer.

Good for you. That is one thing I will never do. If I did, I know I would wear some of the depends I have left from my days of fighting continence issues.

Skydiving never appealed to me, but it is great that you do things that make you feel alive. I love four things: scubadiving, skiing, sailing and traveling. Unfortunately my wife only likes my last passion. Since surgery, I have done all four. I dove in Mexico, skied in Utah, sailed in New York harbor and traveled to France. My next item on the bucket list is to climb Kili, but I have a strong opposition at home. As of now, it is planned for Feb 2010. I hope my health, my job and my wallet will allow me to go.

sailing is bliss, when you are on wind only, been one of my passions since i was a kid. anyone can drive a motorboat, but not anyone can sail. it's an aquired hobby/sport.

Dale, Diving is really not difficult to learn - in many resorts you just spend two-three hours in the pool and can go diving. I highly recommend this. Next in difficulty is sailing, I took a class years ago and was sailing solo right after. To get better, though, you need to sail with a pro. I am part of a racing team which has been a great education. The racing teams are always on a lookout for more crew, so just stop by a yacht club in your area on Wed afternoon (this is when races are) and ask around. Skiing also quite doable, but like everything else, takes practice. I started about ten years ago, so you can learn it as an adult. All three have given me an immense amount of pleasure, adrenalin rush and sense of accomplishment. So, go for it - and let me know if I can be of any assistance. Greg B.

I did a fair bit of sailing when I was younger on the great lakes. Loved it. It's definitely on my list to do again.

Even did some "land" sailing. I was a pretty industrious kid at the age of 12. Sometimes didn't have much sense, still don't. I took apart a pair of roller skates (the old small metal wheel types). I cut out a piece of old plywood and attached the roller skate wheels. Wow, I had my own skateboard. Of course, I didn't know what wheel "alignment" meant.  I nailed a blanket to my skateboard and held the other end up in the wind. I went very fast. Also didn't understand the concept of "unobstructed view". I still have some road rash scars from hitting a parked car going about 20.

That's now off my list. But, the water sailing I will do again...soon.

This thread has been great. It goes to show how much life we all have. If anything just having PCa has given us more determination to live. Even in the light of cancer itself we have so much to be thankful for. I now have added sailing and diving to my ever growing list. Maybe someday we can have a HW get together and do some of this stuff. Well I will have to save some money first.

There were P-51 flight experiences for sale near here, but expensive! Something like $3k I think. Maybe someday though.

I did try out hang gliding. One of the most fun things I've ever done.
