Hi John:
As you can see from my sig, I had Green Light Laser ablation in January 2016. Leading up to that, I had major retention issues which I managed with Flowmax for a while, but ended up self-cathing 3-4 times/day. It was no party. In spite of that hassle, I put off surgery due to fear of possible bad outcomes. That was dumb. The GLL surgery was pretty straightforward. I entered the OR at 10am and was released the following morning at 8am. Spent the night in a recovery room until the post-op cath could come out. Little pain. Normal urinary function was immediate. I had the procedure done at the University of Michigan by Dr John Wei who specializes in a number of ablative techniques. Fine doc. If you have any additional questions, just ask.
Best regards/Dennis
