High Tech Concierge Medicine - Is This the Future?

Works good for healthy young people but for a family of 4 it's $600 a month with no "specialist" visits, no hospitalization and no prescription drugs..Sounds like an HMO with very limited services...Of course, I'm sure there will be "upgrades" available..

There are a number of these starting up out here. In some cases these are started by doctors tired of playing the insurance game. There are a lot of docs out here frustrated by insurance company restrictions and rules.

Also remember that these are being started in areas we're six figure income is the norm and people are willing to pay for anything the reduces the time spent doing something like going to the doctor.

I am starting to see a shift in how health care is paid for in the high tech business and suspect that as companies shift the cost of medical insurance to the workers that workers will be seeking other solutions.

and out here, I'd pay closer to $900 -$1,200 a month for a family of for insurance - even on a company sponsored HMO plan.

and high tech people don't have families of - who has time for that when you've got a project due at the end of the month.
