Hello Everyone
I am in my 4th day of recovery from RLRP Surgery with Dr Eastham at MSK I had my surgery at the Josie Robertson MSK Cancer Center . My surgery went well according to Dr Eastham about
4 hours start to finish Thursday morning I was in some discomfort the first two days By the third day I was off pain meds This morning the fourth day back to work although taking it easy with the Catheter Travel Bag around my leg
Biopsy of Prostrate and Lymph Nodes due back in 10 days Bowel Movement my third day Whahoo ! Facility, Doctors and Nurses 10 out of 10 . First Rate Cancer Center !! Willing to talk with anyone who is considering surgery Many thought it was not necessary but happy so far with the results . Will update when I deal with potential side affects
I am taking a low dose of Viagra to stimulate blood flow to the nerves responsible for erections Right now I take 20 mg and will continue for 1 week after catheter is out and do a "challenge" load of 100 mg once a week :Looking for feedback and comments if interested .
Thank You all for your support and help . Keith

Sharpcut, congrats and welcome to the other side,
You are back to work 4 days post op? You are my hero. Unless maybe you work from bed? LOL
Seriously, do as much walking as you can

Welcome to the other side, sharpcut.
Do everything your surgery team says to do, and don't do anything they say not to do. You may feel 100 percent fairly soon, but your innards need months to heal properly. Lots of walking, no lifting.
Recovery is more important than work right now. If you can afford the time, take a week off after the catheter is out and go somewhere you can take lots of long, relaxing strolls -- the shore, the mountains, wherever.

Back to work after four days? I would not and could not have done that. The only work I could have done was test mattresses.

Congrats on getting through this. Four days back at work is truly impressive! (My brother is a sportswriter and post-RALP he went back to covering sports and doing locker room interviews while he still had his catheter in. But he waited 10 days before he got to that part.)
