My beautiful Dad passed away earlier today. I want to thank every single one of you for all of your support along the way.
It was pretty traumatic this morning, after a broken syringe driver this morning and then 20 minutes or so before his passing the new syringe driver failed... which as you can imagine.. I was out of my mind. However... I’m guessing the outcome would have still stayed the same. There were moments of agitation in the hour leading up to his passing... maybe the driver wasn’t delivering what it should have been. I don’t know but... he’s now at peace.
Dad’s final breaths ... were peaceful ... he just moved his head and within 30 seconds or so he passed. He wasn’t aware. He was peaceful.
I feel relief... I’m probably in shock but I didn’t want him to suffer. I believe he’s in God’s arms now. Thank you again for everything... all of you ❤️ I feel part of this community and so i shall still come back.. I’m not the most knowledgable about
the treatment side of things but maybe one day I might be a a shoulder to cry on for those partners/wives who may one day have to go through something similar.
Dad lives on in me and my brother. He was the best Dad anybody could have asked for.
We will ask all donations etc to be made to prostate cancer research.
All my love.

Kathy, I think you both can have peace now. It is both a blessing and a tough situation -- I've been there with my mother's passing many years ago.
You will have up and down days in the next several weeks to months, but with time you will be left with only positive memories and very little of the pain of these past few months.
Take care and stay in touch with your extended family here at HW.

May you be well and may your father be well with the transition he is now experiencing.
Death is the great equalizer. All must someday come to this point. The high and low, the rich and the poor, the aware and the oblivious. All must face this. May we all do well. May we all prepare in our own way.
We here at HW are all with you today.

So sorry to hear of your loss. It is quite clear from your posts that you were a devoted daughter, and admirably supported your dad at the very time when he needed you the most.
You said "... I feel part of this community and so i shall still come back." Of course you are more than welcome to do so. And then you said "... maybe one day I might be a a shoulder to cry on for those partners/wives who may one day have to go through something similar."
What a noble sentiment! What a fine display of good character and concern for the welfare of others!
I'm certain that your dad would be extremely proud of you for intending to show the same care for others that you clearly showed for him.

Kathy,
Sorry to hear this news, although it was evident that the end was near. No more suffering and no more ports to be hooked up. He can do whatever he wants, and go wherever he wants to go now.
