I am not a RALP guy, but good luck with your decision! Nice to see patients make educated choices with their treatment options.

bw1963,
Absolutely on the bucket decoration! On a serious note though, as with all of us here, with my diagnosis and surgery, my wife's and my lives changed drastically overnight. We were both terrified and stressed out like we'd never known before. While the pee cup just seemed funny to me at the time, my wife told me months later that my joke with the cup was very helpful for her emotionally. She said that she was scared and very worried about
me after the surgery and that my joke let her know that I was getting through it all okay and that I was going to be just fine. So, maybe one important thing to add to the list is to make certain to remember that your close loved ones are also going through this with you so give them a hug and thank them for watching over you.

Re: pee cup; not a bad idea but I just sat down to pee. Be sure to push down otherwise you'll be cleaning extra. I still sit down to pee most of the time b/c I find it is easier to empty the bladder.
Re: pain meds; My surgery was Thursday. I took my vicodin Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Early Monday a.m. I took 3 ibuprofen and lived with that the rest of the week when needed.
I wore post op surgical socks for the first 2 weeks after surgery.
