It's been around for a while. Pretty extreme statements. Not reliable for making decisions.

I agree that there's nothing new there.
The issue has been discussed numerous times on this Forum, and I believe that most here agree that Gleason 6 cases don't need immediate treatment.

I could be wrong...but...I've always been under the impression that the guy who came up with PSA meant for it to be used Post treatment.....and he's had misgivings about his discovery being used pretreatment. He said it was never his intent for it to be used pre treatment.

seems I read somewhere where he went so far as to say, because of the way it's usefulness has been hi-jacked....he wonders if he's done more harm than good.

As others have said pretty shrill and extreme conclusions to some valid concerns
much info about these concerns found elsewhere with a more balanced discussion

I am a chemist(not a medical professional) so used to looking at data and studies where conclusion are not clear cut. Not that things are really clear cut in this world

My first reaction is to take it with a grain of salt. There are many similar slants on doctors in general from people peddling books and such.

I have a suspicion of the industry that a blog like this actually feeds. However, I am not totally negative like this.

As someone with G6 I can only say that if it wasn't for you all here on HW, I would have already received treatment and, most likely, surgery- years ago. I would have had open surgery first, because my local guy is very well respected. Now I feel like I am on the edge. My robotic doc wants me to show up in his office to tell him "my decision". I feel like the pressure is on. Like, time is running out. You guys make me feel like there is more time to logically and calmly make my choice.

So, I see what this blog is saying, but I don't see this in such simple terms.
